HC Recruitment Ltd are delighted to announce a 3 year deal with Bertram Books, Norwich (owned by Woolworths Plc) worth $6m over the next 3 years.

The contract commenced in July 2008 and was penned by Bertram’s Operations Director, Barry Robinson.

“We were originally in discussions with over 6 agencies since October 2007” said Barry. “However, once we had some serious discussions with HC, we knew straightaway that we had the right agency. They could offer so much more for so much less and the transitional process was seamless. HC have been tremendous, I couldn’t be happier with my decision”.

Up until recently, Bertram Books had used an agency to recruit staff and then offered certain staff temporary 3 month contracts for added security and management purposes. This had an obvious cost implication but until meeting with HC Recruitment their perception was that there was no better option.

HC Recruitment now recruit, induct and performance manage all the temporary labour requirements for the 130,000 sq ft facility in Norwich and work closely with the Operations and Warehouse Management Team to ensure peak staffing requirements are planned in advance for a smooth service.

The net result for Bertram Books is not only a fluid and responsive service but also cost savings of over £300,000 off their existing agency labour expenditure.
